BIEN-AIMÉ VERSO DESSENDRE 22 FÉVRIER 1879 — 33 DÉCEMBRE 1905

Son of the prominent Lumiere Dessendre family of Painters in Lumière, Verso lacked his elder sister's talent for Painting but was establishing a promising career in Musicianship. Unfortunately, Verso died tragically while rescuing his younger sister from a house fire, a suspected arson incident as part of the Painters' ongoing war against the Writers. He is grieved by his family and all who loved him. À JAMAIS PEINT DANS NOS CŒURS Given the nature of the character this is all obviously massive headcanon and if you're playing with him I'm probably very willing to change and move things around depending on what works best for the thread we're doing. I may have to eventually use a PB for him IDK. PERSONALITY Charming, amiable, a flirt, and ( much to his mother's chagrin ) a known heartbreaker, low-key fuckboy but does it with romance. A life-enjoyer who doesn't seem to take too much too seriously, at least on the surface. Dedicated musician, with Piano as his first true love, but able to play multiple instruments (mostly strings) at a competent level. Self taught when he was younger, but enrolled at the Conservatory without his parents knowledge at some point and just went for it despite their disapproval. More than a bit of a drama queen, a performer through and through who likes showing off. Lies a lot, mostly harmlessly and for fun, what's wrong with a little bit of embellishment, right? Except no, he lies a lot for deeply serious things, too, but good luck pinning him down about any of it. And as a drama queen: Curious, a meddler, though at least he seems to mostly be less about stirring shit and more about actually helping? Difficult to say, but that's how it tends to work out. Kind and gentle with children, absolutely melts around them, has a bit of a tendency to "adopt" anyone a bit younger than him. Alicia remains the true apple of his eye and he will do absolutely anything for her. Ruthless with a smile. Cutthroat. Willing to use you to get what he needs and wants. His family's war is important to him, he just doesn't fight it directly; even his parents aren't fully aware of the extent of his involvement, but Clea is. She still wants him to stop fucking around and take it more seriously, though. Secretly depressed, detached with an awful case of derealization. Feels little meaning in life. Music and family are all he has and somehow it isn't enough. Hides it incredibly well, however. ABILITIES Normal Painter stuff in the Canvas, presumably, I envision him fighting with either only a musical baton or some kind of mix of baton-and-sheet music or a fencing foil. In the world where he would be an in-game character, his gimmick would likely center around matching lots of QTE inputs to keep to a rhythm, suiting his themes of music but also of playing to an expected role. In the world where Painters create pocket universes and the Writers do something else, my current though for a Musician is persuasion, emotional influence, and simple glamour. If he can write or play the music around you, he can affect what you feel and see.
